| The Bata Villa
Constructed between 1909 and 1911 for Tomas Bat’a, founder of the Bata Shoe Company, and fully restored in 1990, the Bata Villa showcases the best of early 20th century eastern European architecture. Many of the top architects of the time were involved in the project, including Jan Kotěra, Frantisek Thomayer, FL Gahura, Vladimir Karfik, Le Corbusier and Lloyd Wright. Bat’a selected the site for its tranquillity - and for its view over his factories. Today the Bat’a Villa is Zlín’s most prestigious venue for private and corporate functions.
The villa is set within a large private park in the heart of the city, easily accessible by public transportation. The historic, wood-panelled reception rooms on the lower level open to the gardens and accommodate gatherings of 10 to 200. The upper levels of the villa offer modern meeting and seminar rooms which can be configured to suit a variety of requirements. A catering kitchen, a grand piano and presentation equipment are among the facilities. |
