The Thomas Bata PrizeThe Thomas Bata Prize is given annually for the best thesis written and defended in the English language by a non-English-speaking graduate student attending the Thomas Bata University in Zlín.
Test Your Managerial SkillsAn annual competition for university students launched in cooperation with Junior Achievement Czech Republic at the Tomáš Baťa University in Zlín in 2007 and now being implemented across the Czech Republic.
Courses and seminars• Basic computer and internet courses • Shoemaking and costing courses • Lecture series on cultural topics • Lectures about Thomas Bata and his business practises, supplemented with vintage advertising and original film footage. • Global Classroom elementary school presentations.

Wood sculpture symposiumAn annual symposium and competition in wood sculpture, reflecting Zlín’s proximity to some of Europe’s finest mixed wood forests. The symposium takes place at the end of June and is limited to eight participants from any country. Participants are supplied with the appropriate local wood and power tools, as well as a week’s accommodation in Zlín. The symposium concludes with a formal exhibition, and completed works are displayed in the gardens of the Bata Villa. Application form »
Junior AchievementThe Bata Villa provides the headquarters for Junior Achievement International’s Regional Operations Centre, and Junior Achievement South Moravia. The organisation offers business and economics programs to young people throughout these regions. Worldwide, Junior Achievement reaches over 3 million students and plays a critical role in providing them with a critical understanding of the ethical and effectve functioning of the free market system.
